Grieving is neither a weakness nor is it something to feel ashamed of. It’s a necessary emotional response to a loss. Grief also, has the potential to be transformative – if you allow it.
The mystical transformation of grief is a conscious roadmap that a person creates by drawing upon mental, emotional, spiritual, physical practices and rituals in order to re-awaken their energies of gratitude, purpose and passion.
In many respects, the spiritual path – is the path of loss. The spiritual path is the loss of ego. It’s the loss of who society tells us we are. I am sure you have seen it over and over again – you need to experience a loss of everything to then appreciate everything.
I was hit with the loss of a marriage, my home, my community, my mother, my financial security and my health in a span of 3 to 5 years. It plunged me down into despair and sadness where my ego was no longer able to hold on to the pretense that “all was well”. The road was dark, but in this darkness, I had to make a choice – like we all do – to find meaning in my loss – or to stay in my loss.
I choose to find meaning.
I surrendered to my support team. I reached up to my guides, angels, and ancestors. It was a time of isolation, desperation and great sadness – that I knew if I wanted change – something had to change.
It wasn’t an easy journey, but it was one where I discovered the best part of myself. It was a path where I truly became a woman. It was one where I had the greatest spiritual awakening – grief became my greatest teacher. To learn more on the mystical transformation of grief watch the video below.
