Thank you for this, it has truly opened my eyes! I was aware of sizeism as a friend of mine who is rounder was told by a yoga teacher that she “might want to try something else” but never of other forms of exclusion. To me Yoga has always been a practice of love and acceptance for everyone. I think your work is a beautiful expression of Yoga and that your content is information that is invaluable for the community and the world. Many thanks.
There is irony in the fact that where Jennifer is currently living she is unable to afford to participate in asanas practice from a inclusivity perspective- affordability. I think of inclusivity in yoga by not only the cost, but how, as a teacher, can I tune in and know the students limitations, not only physically, but mentally as well. How can I tune in to help prevent injury when I see a student pushing themselves? Black and white issues are on going in the US. I thought people who choose yoga are above racism, this interview proves that I was wrong
