Thank you for demystifying Bikram yoga. Your explanation of the practice was very clear and informative. At the end of the day, it’s all about Love. I like the thought of remaining calm, focused and balanced in such conditions. Forces you to be fully present.
I have never practiced Bikram yoga before but I have participated in other hot yoga classes. Johnny described peoples hesitations to the heat and I get it. I initially felt claustrophobic, but then focused on my breath and eventually did not have little panics during the practice. He explains that it is all in our mind because we are generally not accustomed to the heat. It really resonated with me when he said that it requires concentration and discipline to overcome the reaction. It is almost like a fast track to hyper-focusing on being in the moment. Now I know what Bikram Yoga is. It may not be for me but certainly many people are being benefited from it. Yes our mind is powerful and you know when you have the meditative mind. I agree that all yoga is a good yoga.
